Rhinology/Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery - Feras Ackall, MD
Dr. Feras Ackall is board certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery with fellowship training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery. While he enjoys treating both adult and pediatric patients in all aspects of Otolaryngology (ENT), he has specialized training in medical and surgical treatment of the nasal cavity, sinuses, and skull base. He is the only practicing fellowship-trained Rhinologist in Austin. He believes in compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care with joint decision making.
Dr. Ackall attended the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and earned his bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology with distinction. He completed his medical degree at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC, where he was named a Reynold’s Scholar. During medical school, Dr. Ackall completed medical mission trips in the Middle East, and the Dominican Republic. He was nominated and inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
Dr. Ackall went on to complete his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Duke University in Durham, NC where, aside from excellent and rigorous medical and surgical training, there was specialized focus on virtuous and compassionate leadership. He has authored several manuscripts published in prominent journals in the field. Following residency, Dr. Ackall remained at Duke University and completed fellowship training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, kayaking, and exploring Austin.
Dr. Ackall sees patients at the Central and South Austin locations and is fluent in Arabic.

Oculoplastic/Orbital Surgery - Irina Belinsky, MD
Dr. Irina Belinsky grew up in New York. She graduated magna cum laude from New York University. She was inspired by her family of physicians, including her mother and grandfather who were ophthalmologists, to pursue a career in medicine. She attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where she was awarded a national Institutes of Health grant to study cancers affecting the eye and fell in love with ophthalmology. Graduating cum laude and with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, she went on to do her internship at California Pacific Medical Center and her residency at New York University. She completed two fellowships, Ocular Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, in New York and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital, in Philadelphia. In 2018, she received the prestigious Research Award from the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
After her medical training, Dr. Belinsky joined the faculty practice at NYU Langone Health where she served as a surgeon, clinician, and educator. She has published in peer-reviewed medical literature, authored a book chapter on eyelid reconstruction, and lectured at many national meetings. She has taught and mentored medical students and residents. Dr. Belinsky went on two surgical and teaching missions to Mongolia. She was a five-time invited guest on Doctor Radio, selected by her peers as a Top Doctor, and more recently recognized by Castle Connolly’s Exceptional Women in Medicine.
Outside work, Dr. Belinsky loves spending time with her husband Miguel, her two sons, and their rescue cat named, Jerry. She speaks three languages and has a passion for traveling the world. She enjoys running, standup paddle boarding, and exploring her new home city of Austin.

Neurosurgery - Alexa Bodman, MD
Alexa Bodman, MD, FAANS, is a board-certified neurosurgeon who brings surgical expertise and compassionate care to patients by treating a broad range of neurological conditions. After graduating magna cum laude from The University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science degree, she earned her medical degree and completed her neurological surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in New York. Dr. Bodman furthered her training at Emory University in Atlanta where she completed a fellowship in neurosurgical oncology.
Dr. Bodman has enhanced her field as a researcher and published numerous articles in medical journals on topics including brain tumor treatment and cervical dislocation. She has also given clinical presentations on glioblastoma, spinal cord lesions and other topics.
She is a member of The American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and The Society of Neuro-Oncology. Dr. Bodman has also served as a reviewer for the publication World Neurosurgery.

Otolaryngology/Neurotology - Jonathan Choi, MD
Dr. Jonathan Choi is a double board-certified neurotologist and otolaryngologist - head and neck surgeon, with specialized training in otology, neurotology, and skull base surgery. He specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of ear and skull base disorders in both adults and children.
Dr. Choi graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He completed residency training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
During residency, he published numerous scientific articles and was awarded the J. Dickson Research Award for Outstanding Clinical Research. Following residency, he completed a two-year fellowship in Otology, Neurotology, and Skull Base Surgery at the Michigan Ear Institute.
His clinical interests include chronic ear disease, hearing loss, facial nerve disorders, Meniere’s disease, cochlear implantation, acoustic neuromas, and skull base surgery. He is a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society as well as the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Texas Medical Association, and American Neurotology Society.
Dr. Choi sees patients at the Austin - Otology / Neurotology location. Away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, and playing golf.

Oculoplastic/Orbital Surgery - Vikram Durairaj, MD
Dr. Vikram David Durairaj was raised in Central Texas where both his physician parents practiced medicine for over 25 years. He graduated from Trinity University with a degree in Biology and a minor in Biophysics. While attending medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center, he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. Dr. Durairaj completed his Internship at Georgetown University and his Residency at the University of Colorado. He completed his 2-year American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Durairaj is a board certified ophthalmologist and takes his fiduciary role very seriously. His dedication to uncompromising care is demonstrated in his pristine record and excellent standing with the Texas Medical Board.
Dr. Durairaj has performed over 20,000 eyelid, orbit and lacrimal surgeries and is in excellent standing with the Texas Medical Board. He currently serves as Manager of TOC Eye and Face and is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Dell Medical School – University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Durairaj is the Director of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship and Preceptor of the AACS Facial Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at TOC Eye and Face.
Dr. Durairaj has given over 400 invited national and international lectures and courses, published over 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts, chapters, and abstracts, and presented his research at national and international meetings. He has served as editor and reviewer for 18 scholarly publications. He has been selected to US News and World Report Top Doctors, America’s Top Ophthalmologists, Best Doctors in America, Texas Super Doctors, and Best Doctors in Austin. In 2011, he received the achievement award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and served as Program Chair for the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Durairaj has a passion for tennis. His wife specializes in Internal Medicine and they enjoy spending time with their two wonderful children.

Radiation Oncology - Paiman Ghafoori, MD
Dr. Ghafoori is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist at Texas Cancer Institute, dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art, patient-centered care. He focuses on providing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs, combining a compassionate approach with advanced technologies. As part of the Texas Cancer Institute, Dr. Ghafoori offers patients treatment on the most elite and advanced technologies, including the TrueBeam and TrueBeam Edge, offering a level of precision and innovation unmatched in the Austin area.
Dr. Ghafoori earned his medical degree from Harvard University and completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at Duke University Medical Center. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas, where he contributes to clinical education and ongoing advancements in cancer treatment. His experience, expertise, and training make Dr. Ghafoori the premier radiation oncologist in the area.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ghafoori has received numerous awards and research grants from leading national organizations, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). He has also been recognized for his dedication to patient care, earning distinctions such as Most Compassionate Doctor, received multiple Patients’ Choice Awards from leading patient survey publications, Austin Monthly Magazine and Castle Connolly. Dr. Ghafoori was also voted one of the Top 10 Radiation Oncologists in Texas.

Neurosurgery - Craig Kemper, MD
Dr. Craig Kemper is a board-certified neurological surgeon and Executive Director of the Austin Skull Base Institute. Dr. Kemper is the region's most accomplished Acoustic Tumor surgeon and serves as Medical Director of Neuro-Oncology at St. David’s Medical Center.
After earning his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Dr. Kemper interned at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville. He performed his Neurosurgery residency at Vanderbilt as well. He has been in private practice since 1994.
Dr. Kemper is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His professional affiliations include the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Meacham Society and the Southern Neurological Society.

Otolaryngology/Neurotology - James Kemper, MD
As a board-certified head and neck surgeon, Dr. James Kemper subspecializes in neurotology. He joined Austin ENT Clinic in April 2011 after more than 10 years of solo practice.
As a college undergraduate, Dr. Kemper attended Davidson College in North Carolina for one year. Homesick for Texas, he returned to Austin and graduated in 1985 with honors from the University of Texas with a degree in biology. He earned his medical degree and completed his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
After practicing general otolaryngology for two years, Dr. Kemper’s interest in ear surgery led him to pursue a fellowship in neurotology at The Neurotology Group in Nashville, Tennessee under the guidance of renowned neurotologist Michael E. Glasscock, III, MD and Wes Kreuger, MD.
Since 1998, Dr. Kemper has concentrated exclusively on diseases of the ear and skull base, in patients from infancy through adulthood. His broad experience in managing hearing and balance disorders includes chronic ear disease and infection, management of vertigo and Meniere’s syndrome, tumors of the ear and brainstem, cochlear implants, and other hearing implants.
Dr. Kemper and his experienced audiologists allow patients to optimize their hearing through multiple modalities, including the implantation and programming of 50-60 cochlear implants per year. Dr. Kemper and his staff take the time with patients to fully understand and optimally treat the most complicated of hearing and balance disorders.
Dr. Kemper and his wife have four children. Their active family enjoys playing sports, the outdoors, and mission trips.
